Question by Jeremy Williams: Designer Drugs, Illegal Drugs, Natural Drugs. Is it ETHICAL to combat Known less harmful drugs? In a world where Designer Drugs are skirting the law, such as Bath Salts containing hardcore stimulants and synthetic Marijuana such as Spice and K2, what is the Ethical choice to resolve our nations drug problems? Bear with me this is long but valid.

I personally am not a DRUG user in the sense everyone likes to label drug users. I am a military vet of 6 years who served during war time but thank God was never deployed to a war zone. I spent many years however working long hours repairing equipment getting sent to war zones and dealing with the daily stress of knowing others lives are in your hands every turn of the wrench. I became an alcoholic through all this, and battled it 10 years before rehab finally turned me clean. I am a father of 3 children all in school and in Gifted programs due to their intelligence. own my own home, 2 cars, and was happy for a long time.

Alcoholism did more than almost destroy my life, it left me with low Dopamine Levels in my brain, Depression, fatigue, lack of concentration left me bedridden in a blur of hell. I took countless depression drugs, saw 15 doctors in 3 states, and suffered through side effects that turned me from a loving father into a monster who nearly destroyed his family, it was worse than the Alcoholism itself.

I soon started taking ADD meds, Dextroamphetamine, aka the Stigma filled SPEED! My energy levels came back, I could think clearly, I felt great, the depression disappeared in 30 minutes, and then the Laws came, Doctors came under scrutiny, I had to fight to find a doctor to prescribe my life giving drugs often to be pushed away because they would say “I don’t feel comfortable prescribing these types of stimulant drugs.”

I was not getting high, I was making myself cable of living again and taking dose’s less than most kids take daily. Yet the War on drugs left me sick again by making doctors uncomfortable prescribing to needy patients because the ignorance of abusers.

I now receive my ADD meds through the VA and get them at my door once a month, I also supplement any stimulants I need with the Quasi Legal, un tested health wise, MPDV containing bath salts. Reason is I developed a tolerance over the years and asking for a larger dose from a doctor is like asking a priest to smoke a joint with you. I dont snort a huge line of a 500 mg bottle of these, I measure out a theraputic dose and take it orally if needed and it gives me my life back.

So finally heres the finale, The war on drugs has lost, designer drugs will daily be modified and will replace any banned substance. They are stronger, more dangerous, and cheaper than the drugs that man has used and God put on Earth for use to use. Natural Drugs, Marijuana, Opiates, Cocaine, all derive from plants, Its not use that is harmful, its misuse, and a handful of idiots who misuse these drugs.

You can read in the news that 250 calls have been made to poison control centers due to these dangerous bath salts, but you cant read how many are made due to the toxic depression meds, toxic for your health meds, and other drugs that these huge companies push on the public and make from the very plants we are not allowed to grow because of laws.

Lets force cancer patients to take meds that make them sick and cause rectal bleeding, tumors, etc but lets not let them smoke weed because it makes them HAPPY. Lets force depression patients to commit suicide due to the terrible side effects of drugs, and their inability to live due to the fatigue and lack of interest, instead of allowing them to legally own stimulants that are proven safe and COMPLETELY eliminate the disease. Lets force pain patients to feel like criminals to get meds, to feel like drug addicts, instead of simply growing a poppy or two for their own use.

Stop making criminals out of people who are not, an addict will abuse drugs regardless of law, a patient and responsible adult is not an abuser, they want their life back. I

Is the law fighting for your Rights, or the Ethics of the Religious and the Right? All drugs are dangerous because they are illegal and uncontrolled, prescription drugs are just as dangerous. Yes your right, they are dangerous, because of abuse. Its this same thought and idea that poisons our society. Alcohol, Cars, Toys even, kill more people, and cause more harm than any drug, and a drug addict will and always be one until he choses other wise.

To say these bath salts have no theraputic effect is like saying Ecstasy has none while thousands of Psych doctors say otherwise. I know it has theraputic effects because I have ADD, Depression, and a Theraputic dose that does not make me high in any way makes me able to function when I am out of ADD meds.

As for me trying to justify this as military etc., your wrong. The military creates Alcoholism by the ease of obtaining it 24 hours a day and the daily stress of life. I dont have to go into my entire military service and had no plans to, I was explaining why I was left an alcoholic. I happened to have spent a year and
