What is the best natural flea repellent for cats?
Question by Karina: What is the best natural flea repellent for cats? I’ve been looking into flea repellents for my cat and after doing research, I decided I’d like to try to go with something natural as to not have chemicals in my cat’s body. I’ve seen a few suggestions, but I’ve also seen that they can be harmful to cats (for example, tea tree oil). Does anyone know of a natural flea repellent that works and isn’t harmful to cats?
Thanks. Jenny, I looked up garlic and it said it is harmful to cats, lowers their red blood cell count, and can cause them to become anemic.
Q&A: Home business. In Percentage how much profit do you charge?
Question by *Beba*: Home business. In Percentage how much profit do you charge? Hello everyone im here trying to start my own home based business. Start up is slow and im getting to the calculating point. I need to know what is fair. example I calculated everything in total ( i included how much it costs me to ship the stuff to me and divided into what it costs me to make lets say a 2 ounce body scrub.
In total it cost me 2.60 I would like to make some money back from that. How much is fair for me and the buyer. I use all natural stuff and it works wonders on the skin. TIA.

What is better for acne, aloe vera gel or tea tree oil?
Question by : What is better for acne, aloe vera gel or tea tree oil? I have acne face/chest/back. Most of it is controllable or not TOO bad, except for my back. It’s all over. Sometimes as whiteheads, sometimes as boils & I’m pretty sure I now have some scars from them
For my face I use the Neutrogena Pore Refining Cleanser/Toner (which is sadly now discontinued so I don’t know what to do after I’m done with these bottles!) and my body I have the OXY Exfoliating Body Scrub which doesn’t seem to be working I’ve used a Neutrogena body wash before, but that also didn’t work too well.
My other problem is I’m allergic to fragrance so I have to be careful with a lot of products, so I was thinking of maybe trying a more natural way.
Any kind of tips would be greatly appreciated!
The Island Scenario – What are your answers?
Question by Skitter: The Island Scenario – What are your answers? THE ISLAND SCENARIO A. Five castaways are stranded on a tropical island with lots of natural wildlife.
B. Within hours of arrival the arguments begin about how to address their situation. Finding that they are not very fond of one another they decide to divide the island into five equal parts and go their separate ways.
C. They all agree to mutually respect these property lines, not to steal from one another, and not to murder or attack one another. In addition to this they agree to mutually prosecute any offenders of this agreement.
D. Soon after four of the five castaways decide to work together for mutual support, one remains isolated. In this group of four, we find a couple of the castaways have watched a few episodes of Survivorman, and another was an Eagle Scout. Together they know how to make basic shelters, start fires, fish and even hunt. Basic survival is no longer in question.
E. After about three or four months the four have gotten into a routine, they have reasonably decent shelters, with enough space to sleep comfortably, and they keep the rain off. They have a bit of fresh meat, fish and fruit. All things considered they are surviving. Then the four realize it has been sometime, possibly a couple of months since they last heard from Castaway Five.
F. Out of concern they go to visit Castaway Five, and are surprised by what they find. Just off the beach, Five has constructed a sturdy hut with three rooms, a patio, shelving, a bed with a matress made from animal hide, and even a chair and footstool, all out of bamboo. There is a tub made of fired clay, with a fire heated water supply to take warm baths. He/She has constructed a water filtration system, has a garden with herbs and vegetables. He/She has supplies of soap, salt, dried herbs, salted meats, tanned hides, cording, a powerful bow, and arrows with bone arrowheads. He/She is eating off of fired and glazed clay plates and has fashioned utensils from wood and bone. He/She has a number of herbal medicines, and even has a lotion with Aloe to deal with sunburn. Castaway Five is not only surviving he/she is thriving.
**********
So here are my questions. There are no right or wrong answers, only your thoughts as an individual, but please explain your answers:
1. What obligations, if any, does Castaway Five have to the others?
2. If Castaway Five refuses to share his/her herbal medicine with the others, despite even an obvious need, has he/she limited their freedom?
3. If Castaway Five is willing to share with Castaway Three, but not the others, has he/she limited their freedom? (Consider this sharing in a way that the others cannot partake in. For example a meal, a little lotion for a sunburn, soap and a bath, or something similar.)
4. Assuming you are one of the castaways, and number three sneaks some of the medicine away because you need it, what will be your reaction?
5. What price is to high for Castaway Five to ask for the goods the others might need/want?

Q&A: I have read many blogs, does salt alone help out if you put it in the carpet and areas a cat sleeps?
Question by karimichelle78: I have read many blogs, does salt alone help out if you put it in the carpet and areas a cat sleeps? I heard that the salt will dehydrate them? I am mostly worried about the larva, or flea eggs. I do not want to use borax, because it is a chemical, and I am very afraid to use chemicals that may make my cats sick. I gave my older three legged cat a flea bath, and he got Ill, and wouldn’t eat for awhile. He also pee’d on the carpet after this, and has never done that. His energy was low, and he didn’t move around a lot. Seargent’s gold shampoo is what did this to him. I am afraid of using chemicals around him or on him now. I am though going to use Frontline on him. I have no choice, I need to get rid of these fleas. They are making him so stressed out. He can’t itch his head on one side, becuase he is missing a back leg. Poor guy. Anyways, I am gonna kill these bastards either way. they DISGUST me terribly. After buying frontline I will be broke for a couple of weeks. Is there any natural stuff to put on the carpets to help me kill the fleas and eggs in the carpet?
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate & Shampoo – What is your opinion reguarding sulfates in shampoo products?
Question by Jordan: Sodium Lauryl Sulfate & Shampoo – What is your opinion reguarding sulfates in shampoo products? I have a project on the SLS in shampoo products, and I would like to know your opinion on it.
Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) is a toxin foaming agent detergent that is an active ingredient in many of our everyday cleaning products targeting dirt and grease. Think about every single cleaning product there is used to remove grease: dish washing liquids, Clorox cleaners, Lysol cleaners, carpet cleaner, toothpaste, hair color, body wash, facial scrubs, hand soaps, but most of all- hair shampoo. When I saw the continuously long list of products containing this chemical, I knew that this had to be a harsh ingredient. Sodium lauryl sulfate is composed of NaC12H25SO4. Sodium lauryl sulfate dries the skin stripping the body natural oils made to protect it. When something is applied to your skin or scalp, your skin absorbs it. Once absorbed, and your natural oils are stripped, your hair looses it ability to tailor moisture. In fact, you begin to undergo dry itchy scalp, dandruff, and even hair loss. Why would companies still use a product that is so harsh to a person’s health? Three words; it collects money; thus making it easier for companies to supply a cheap product that end-users would purchase.
Please leave you comments below on your feelings reguarding this ingredient.
