Question by 20022006: Why are so many fat people dishonest about why they’re fat? “Oh, no I’m big-boned”

Granted there’s more than likely a genetic component to having a slower metabolism.

Next time you’re at the grocery store see what obese people buy. I was at the grocery store the other day and this obese lady was riding an electrical cart, not because she can’t walk, but because it might strain her (I assume).

She goes to get milk, and there’s rows of soy milk, almond milk, 1%, skim, and where does she go? Right to the whole milk. Bzzzzz (sound of the cart) where does she go next?– to get some Velveeta, then some ice cream (ignoring the soy dream and frozen yogurt). Anyway, I’ve become bored of this and I go to get some Evian, as I’m walking away I hear that sound and I turn around and what do I see? That fat lady getting two cases of Pepsi.

Anyway standing at checkout, I see what’s in her cart–ice cream, bacon, hamburger meat, white bread, Pepsi, Velveeta, cooking spray and an Onion (oh, a vegetable, I’m impressed!) and compare it to what’s in mine–bottled water, macadamia nuts, Tofurky, organic skim milk, olive oil, spinach, peppers, sprouts, strawberries, pomegranate juice, whole wheat pasta, it becomes obvious that with the power of my groceries, I’ve defied genetics (both of my parents are obese) by being 6’4″/188 lbs, having a 33″ waist and body fat percentage of 8.5.

I’m going to try to get a hold of Oprah.

Do you know any overweight people who out-and-out lie about themselves and their condition?

Overweight females are especially dishonest.
